Re: Bought a civic, want to upgrade...help (94redcivichatch)
king of prussia i live right down the road. anyway, you might want to invest in a helms manual before you do anything.
edit: if its an auto, get a manual swap and you can put the d16z6 head on(which is the Si or Ex model engine), but if you want the most power, save up for a B-series or K-series swap
edit X2- read the rules also, they are stickied at the top of the forum page. No picture posting in this forum, only tech.

OK massive, you ask for it...
save money, lots of money$$$ and swap to a B-series motor and turbo it just my 2cents bro
do alot of research and soon you'll discovered that most people with huge HP gone with a turbo setup!!
have fun.

read the link I put above.. he tells you everything you need and how much it came out to be.
This is taken from that thread.

I paid $200 for the head, and $85 for the ECU. Random stuff kept adding up after that. $550 is comparable to a full Z6 swap, but remember this included a new timing belt, head gasket, etc.

Re: Bought a civic, want to upgrade...help (Ej1_coupe)
Read the link, I got the price and all, but I was going more towards a mechanic doing it... I don't really trust myself that much to work on my own car. my friends offered but I d'no, Id rather have someone with experience doing it incase somebody messed somethin up.

Re: some massive hps & torque gain
for some massive hps & torque gain get a turbo, swap is a pain and costs more.
get a performance catback exhaust .
put in a K&N replacement air filter.
cold air intake is a waste of money on stock setups.
get some good tires.
Turbo !
read some of the past threads on swapping vs. turbo
Turbo Kits 101
http://www.cse.uconn.edu/~yele....html
and of course there is nitrous

Re: some massive hps & torque gain (Honda.F1)
nah i did not im you, but find someone who you know, or even ask the mechanic if you take it to a shop ask if you can help. The best experience is to practice.
