Bought a civic and having problems
Ok so I have a 94 civic 4d ex when we bought it it had rod knock so I pulled the engine and tranny, got a 98 d16y7 and put the d16z6 head on it new tbelt, wp, clutch, cv axles, rear and main seals, dist oring, cam seal, valve stem seals, chem dipped the head and intake, very lightly ported the intake and head.
The guages dont work and the fuse just blows as soon as I put it in... Dont really know why any diagnostic steps I can take? Thought about disconnecting the wires on the back and reconnecting them one at a time...

well one you went from obd-1 to obd-2 so double check to make sure that the chassis harness and the engine harness are the same. as far as the plug goes.
example.
chassis harness -- Engine harness
02 wire- said color/color---- goes to the o2 sensor.
and so and and so forth
thats my imo

Double check all your connectors, you may have accidentally crossed some connectors. for example the TPS & MAP connectors are interchangeable, the IAC, PCS, & IAT connectors are interchangeable, the ECT & VTEC Pressure switches connectors are interchangeable (and the same as IAC, PCS, & IAT but won't reach). The main plugs (on either end of the engine harness) MAY be interchangeable, but I can't remember.
What fuse are you blowing? There are quite a few fuses in the car, and knowing which fuse narrows things down a bit.
