Default boring cylinder walls...81mm to 84mm? Possible?

I know that honda only suggest you take a little off the cylinder walls at a time. I can only guess if this could be done, no one would have a actually b20 block. But i was wondering if you can take as much as 1.5mm off the cylinder walls. Thus a b18 would yeild the 2.0, i am sure the walls would get weaker but is it even possible?

I think physically it is possible, but I've never seen anyone go bigger than 82mm on stock sleeves. they are just going to be too thin at that point.

There are several manufacturers that sell 84-86mm bored sleeves.

i recently purchased a b18c from TurboT on H-T....the block was resleeved by golden eagal and then bored to 85mm...so for 600 for the resleeving plus the machining to a 85mm your gonna get alot of power...im not to sure about stock sleeves...doesnt sound like boring stock sleeves would be a great idea depending on your application and goals for the car.

you could bore it out and it would last as long as you don't rev it past 3000 rpm , it would be crazy thin and would last an hour if you were lucky, i've seen a bunch of GE blocks def worth the money

the whoel idea was to have an 84mm bore so that it would displace the 2.0 like a b20. i guess that is the only reason poepl buy those blocks as opposed to just boring all these b18b blocks. Sorry about the dumb question, but i have to have the walls bore dut to clean up the scares, and i am getting JE psitons cause i have had my fair share of NOS nightmares. I was hoping maybe i could take it a step further since i already have to spend the money on the bore and the forged psitons..thanks and hwo do get rid of this dumb face!!! lol

thanks
