Well for starters a good clean engine bay is nice. Fix all rattles. Give your coolant system a flush...maybe brake system as well. New pads. Spotless interior is always nice.

Rotate the tires. relocate the battery. paint your calipers black.

Its late thats all I got...lol

Spark plugs and wires
Distributor cap and rotor
Air filter
Fuel filter

I might have left some stuff out, but it's not expensive stuff anyway. And even if you're new to engines, all that stuff is easy to replace.

Valve adjustment isn't that hard, but I've never done it so I can't explain it.

I'd clean it real good inside, out and under the hood. Fix any rattles under the hood, maybe collect the wires (like tye them off) and make it look all nice and pretty. Then I'd probally start painting stuff (lip, break calipers, etc...) And touch up paint for the out side

So far, i've cleaned the interior, back seats are gone, working on a custom carpeted hatch cover thing...will get pics up asap (and full write up), when i removed the carpets....i found.....MOLD! so damn wrong...the passenger side insulation was almost completely mold...yuck(so thats what that smell was) ... I'm going to get the stuff to wire a kill switch tonight...looking into what i'd need to wire a seperate battery to my alarm...couldn't hurt right?
