Bore out the throttle body?
I have a b16a sirII. Should I do this? I have a skunk2 intake manifold. Well should I bore out the throttle body? And what is the going rate?

you can, the price is about $150-200 to do the TB, some expirence idle problems, but only when done improperly....

Since things could be done wrong, could I take a tb out of like a 90 teg or something like that? How about a 94 teg ls or what not? Then use that one as an experiment.

Re: Bore out the throttle body? (DragonCTR69)
so are you saying to get stuff like ctr cams then bore out the throttle body? Or just go with the throttle body for the response and then do some internal ****?

good info! thanks. Any more suggestions would be nice. And yes, I am on a budget and will do things slowly. The plan is the hardest part! That is what I am asking help for. The plan.

Re: Bore out the throttle body? (hb_racer)
IMO I think boring out your TB worths the money. It cost me 200cdn here in Vancouver. And it's in a taper shape which the diameter will be biggeest in the TB opening and then get smaller into the throttle plate. It keeps the throttle plate stock. U won't gain much(probably no) hi-end hp but u will gain torque and hp in mid-range. Plus as someone said the throttle response will be a lot better. So it's a really good investment to me since I go auto-x and roadracing.
Yes what Dragon said about the headwork is right. Not only that I will also send my own ECU to reprogram to my own spec(which is according to my engine's setup) too.
