i have a ferio eg thats auto.....my plans are to do a auto to manual conversion and then boosting it,i would like to know some tips for me to be able to boost more and make my car run harder without having to blow it

well i heard that u can only boost like 7 to 8 pounds but i want to be able to pick the boost up a notch safely

Good fuel management and tuning. A stock clutch (d series) is only good to about 7 or 8 psi on a TDo4h-15g (from personal experience).

if i could take it all apart, id get new bearings, and rod bolts.

but if i just bought the turbo, id definately get all the fuel components needed, (pump, fpr, injectors, rail, etc...) and tune the f**k out of it y0!

all i can say is take ur time setting a goal and set-up. although weak,a d can still be very potent. after setting a goal, that will determine what set up u should go with. management & tuning is the key. good luck

I would suggest doing plenty of searches in the forced induction forum for a couple of months before you even think about putting a turbo on your car.

I would say on a budget, get DSM 450 cc injectors, wire up a resistor box, run the V-AFC and provided you richen up certain RPM's (like higher RPM's), it could be possible to run 10 psi provided you still have fair condition rings.

Thats what I'm doin. I do have head studs, a cometic HP style headgasket, and only a tiny greddy 15g turbo but its a blast. 13.62 in my EH3 at about 8 psi... Still running un-tuned though.

Amen...Im on a stock block and 8 psi (same 15g) and ran a 13.8 in a stripped out hatch.

EDIT: Make sure to learn as much as you can before you jump into this. It is a BIG project and you will end up paying an arm and a leg if you plan on paying other people to fix everything that can/will break.

Sweet, how long have you been running that and how many miles are on your motor?

http://www.turbod16.com after my manual swap im doing the greddy kit with a type 31 front mount and the greddy emanage with laptop tie in... im waiting for a responce from greddy on what injectors they recomend... i heard the rc eng. work great... plan on dropping like 2500 to do it right with all the goodies

absolutely. also i recommend you read maximum boost by corky bell - best $25 you can spend toward a turbo setup

Im not real enthused about my E-Manage. Biggest pile of junk if you ask me. The manual I was supplied with is in Japanese, so I had to do some legwork to find an english one (someone on here was nice enough to help me out.) Then the ***** that are supossed to tune wahtever RPM range are not worth a half a crap. I would stay far far away from that E-Manage. Just my opinion (and I own one). Also, that Corky Bell book was my daily read for a couple of months before I bought my turbo!!

Been running the turbo for 14 months now and odometer reads 183k. Car weighed in at 2474 with me in it on the 13.62 run with street tires. Absolute full interior + spare.

im running 7psi stock engine dsm450s and vafc no problems hear. soon to be running 10psi might retard the timming some before i hit 10psi.
