Boosting my D16y7 do I need this stuff?
I have been told both ways, I am about to boost my d16y7 with a t3/t4 turbo kit.
I have the jumper harness for the OBDII to OBDI conversion. I have non v-tec so going to run the P06 ECU.
That being said, I have been told I do and been told I don't need the following parts:
Fuel Management Unit(Blox)
Bypass Valve(Blox)
Fuel Rail(AEM)
Fuel Regulator(B&M)
I am going to run 97-01 lude H22 injectors and a walbro 255 fuel pump. 8-10psi. Also is a street tune cool to do if it will be daily driven?
Any help is appreciated.

woudl def go with bigger injectors
say dsm 450s
dont need any of that stuff exept engine management
which would be
hondata, ectune, chrome and such dont need no feul management piggyback ****

Re: Boosting my D16y7 do I need this stuff?
I have been told the lude injectors or just fine for 8-10psi? They are 395cc I think is what I was told?
P06 is stock OBDI ECU non v-tec so that should work, yes?
And would the FMU, bypass, fuel pump, rail, regulator just be an extra help thing? A just in case if you would?

MORE LIKE 290CC

YES BUT IT WILL NEED TO BE CHIPPED THEN TUNED

ALL GARBAGE NOIT NEEDED ON A STREET DD CAR RUNNING LOW BOOST
JUST GET THE FEUL PUMP BUT THE OTHER STUFF NOT NEEDED
FMU'S ARE FROM THE PAST WHEN WE HAD NO OTHER CHOICE BUT TO RUN UNRELIABLE THINGS FOR THE FEW HOURS OF THE ENGINES LIFE

Re: Boosting my D16y7 do I need this stuff?
I am fully aware it needs to be chipped people around here chip it included in the price of tuning it, so I figured it would go without saying but guess not.
When did people around here become ****** when I just ask a few simple questions.
I apologize that I wanted a quick answer.

Re: Boosting my D16y7 do I need this stuff?
yes it will work.
but...
obd1 ecus reads 2 wre IACV only!
a d16y7 has a 3 wire iacv.
to convert to a 2 wire, you are going to have to change your intake manifold.
i currently have a boosted d16y7 and running a d16z6 intake manifold for the 2 wire iacv.
you would then repin your ecu and remove one of the wires.
check this out when you have time

Re: Boosting my D16y7 do I need this stuff?
getting a aftermarket intake manfold can work also. the thing is, u cannot use your stock throttlebody because your stock tb is where the 3 wire iacv is mounted to.
u can use a d16z6 or d16y8 tb and a 5 speed y8 or z6 manifold so it cuts down the cost rather then buying it all aftermarket.
u will still need the repin the ecu harness. just a jumper harness will not do it. get the info on the link I posted ealier on how to do that.
if u google "3 wire to 2 wire iacv a good amount will pop up.
good luck

Re: Boosting my D16y7 do I need this stuff?
Fuel Management Unit(Blox)No, just use a free program e.g. Crome.
Bypass Valve(Blox)No.
Fuel Rail(AEM)No.
Fuel Regulator(B&M) Depends, gettin' a real tune or just running off a basemap?
I am going to run 97-01 lude H22 injectors and a walbro 255 fuel pump. 8-10psi. Also is a street tune cool to do if it will be daily driven?
H22 injectors are cool if you don't plan on making more than 220ish(I think?) as it's a rated at 290cc. I'd run it a little richer (If you have a fuel regulator), if you didn't have money to tune. But do your best to get a real tune.

Re: Boosting my D16y7 do I need this stuff?
everyone and their mama knows that every turbo should be tuned.
u tell him to tune...then say that you would use a stock intake manifold?
stock intake manifold has NO iacv since its mounted on the tb. the iacv on a y7 has 3 wires.
all obd1 ecus need a 2 wire iacv or it will have idling issues.
soooooooooooo....
to tune...u need to convert to obd1 since obd1 has all the tuning options like crome and all that good stuff.
since obd1 ecus need a 2 wire iacv...u cannot run the stock intake manifold.
if u are a person that likes to get creative and super technical, feel free to try and find a way to run obd1 on a stock y7 manifold and not run into idling issues.
I have done a bunch of reading on turbo y7's and finally had the time to do mine.
