Default boosted gas mileage

i was just driving around in my friend's 99 si with a greddy turbo pushing about 12 psi he has a holly inline fuel pump. he sez that he gets horriable gas mileage . i know it won't get stock gas mileage by far but how bad do you think it should be? he sez sometimes he gets less than 9 miles a gallon . i'm just wondering cause i plan on boosting my b18b come this may and don't know what to expect i plan on lowering my compresstion and running around 17 psi. thanks for any comments

Christ that's horrible fuel economy. Has he hooked up everything properly?

When I turboed my SOHC, I went from 27mpg up to 31mpg. After a year of that, it slowly went back down to 26-27mpg in mixed driving (including mountain flogs).

Now I get 18mpg w/ a standalone, running really god-awful rich.
