It can be done but they cant handle much. Highly advise a manual trans swap.

Boosting a automatic so pointless and worthless. Get a manual.

7X10 transmission oil cooler from summit - about $50,

flush the tranny fluid when you change oil,

keep it under 200whp,

it should last a good while

It can be done with an AFC controller. Its going to be a hack, and its not going to last. You can't run an OBD1 ECU with an OBD2 civic tranny. You pretty much have to swap in a 5 speed and convert to OBD1 to do it right.

SAFC and a msd BTM (boost timing master) is the best combo to use OBD2. i would deffinately run a oil cooler with a fan n thermostat. i ran mine this way for a while. since you dont have a filter. it will cook fast and u will have to change ur transmission fluid every 10-20k. 3.5 quarts to fill. id flush it before u even put the turbo kit on.

There are 2 inherent problems with the auto tranny:

1. The transmission is not built to handle a lot of power. If he's set on doing this, i would advise a tranny cooler as mentioned above
2. Tuning the automatic is going to be a pain in the ***. I'm not sure which, if any, programs will work for this application. At this point, a manual swap is a much better option
