Boggin Ls.....
so i just got an obd1 b18b swapped in my eg. there is no check engine light at first, but after i turn it on there a check light. im gonna check on that later, but the car bogs a lot with light gas, it sputters and will die. i have to gas it to like above 2k rpms, and even after it bogs until about 3.5rpms, after 3.5 it is smooth and strong but before that it feels like there is no power. what may be the problems

i dont think it would be a problem. my LS swap runs perfect with the stock civic fuel pump. i guess it would be a better upgrade but really not neccessary

edit: i advance the timing because i think it was retarded, so now it runs smoother and bogs less

If you think it is the map sensor double check the wiring all the way back to the ecu. If your previous engine had the firewall map you need to use that wiring to the throttlebody sensor.

Re: (Endo-land)
well wiring for map sensor is good. i switched out the sensor with a working one and it's still throwing a code 3. no codes when the car is off.
if my timings is off will that cause me to bog?

replace all your spark plug wires, spark plugs, dizzy cap and rotor. that will eliminate those possible things and its good to tune that up anyways. all of those were a combination of the same problem with my ls swap. double check the timing afterwards and you should be set. check and see what your code is though. i don't think a cel will help with your ignition issues though. its probably something else.

Ls map placement is different then civic , make sure u are indeed using the sensor on the firewall of the civic. Sounds stupid but some people try to use the setup from the integras.

Re: (lsjon)
it runs fine now that i got a cat on it, but restricted cuz stock civic piping is so small....anyways the map placement on my old sohc motor is exactly the same as the one on the ls yet im still getting a code 3........i have no line connected to that nipple next to the map sensor, could this be it?
