bog/mis/hesitation UNDER 2500 RPM ONLY!!
2000 civic si (sir canada)
b16a, had to do a motor swap because i bought the car with a nfg engine.
Car ran great for 3 hours while i drove home after the swap, now it bogs and hesitates and misses under 2500 rpm only, i have tried the following
-double checked ignition timing and mechanical timing
-valve adjustment
-compression test
-new plugs,wires,cap, rotor and coil
-tried a brand new distributor
-new fuel filter and pump
-checked tps sensor
-cleaned fuel injector screens
I have also unplugged the fuel pressure regulator and it just eats gas and still no change
Also unplugged o2 and just runs rich
NO CEL IS ON
On a side note:when i drove back (3hrs) it was -48 degrees and -51 with the windchill, so i put cardboard in the front, the engine did get hot, it was about 3/4 of the way up the gauge before i caught it, i cranked the heat and it was all good. It did this twice. after i got into town 3 hours later i noticed the mis/bog etc.
sorry for the Novel just wanted to make it clear.
Thanks

Re: bog/mis/hesitation UNDER 2500 RPM ONLY!!
its not timing.
being as cold as it is.. it could just be weather. has it ever happened before?? are the coolant lines run properly? and is your coolant up to the task of performing at those temps? could be icing on the throttle/fitv/iacv.
and hook the o2s and fpr back up! wth are they un-done anyway?

Re: bog/mis/hesitation UNDER 2500 RPM ONLY!!
none of the above, the fpr was undone for all of 2 min just to see how the engine would respond, same as the o2 sensor.
I have put over 1000km on he engine like this. and i bought the car not running, first time i heard it run was after i did the swap. A few other forums and myself think its burnt valve.
Thanks for the input guys
