Default Bodykit?

Im new here, and i was just wondering why so many people here seemingly dont like body kits, just wondering, i drive a 98 ex with a sohc n/vtec with an aem intake, dc sport headers, arospeed exhuast, and ebach coilovers. And i did wanna get a kit next.

I personally dont like bodykits because all of the ones that I have seen are *** ugly. I also dont like the fact that most of them are fiberglass and after about 2 months they have cracks and chips all over them from random scraps or dings.

So true. I have had mine for about a year now. Im ready to do a Office Space trip once i get some new fenders. But dont listen to anyone says. If you want a kit get it. Its your car right? Do whatever you want with it. My only problem with my kit was bumps (it lowered my car 1/2 a inch). A body kit is damn near the same as getting a lip, dont forget that.

1. majority off them are ugly
2. don't serve any GO purpose
3. they crack, chip and you have alot more to worry about
4. they add attention to youre car (and if youre car is street driven any attention is bad attention bottom line)

i personally like every car with there factory aerodesigns. when u add a body kit, it gives the car an un-matching look. I understand if u add a lip kit, to make it look more aggresive. Body kits make the car look really loud.

like the man above said, if u read much lately, u notice a lot of break ins and car jacking, ... its been that way here, if you want to do something in a body kit way, do like hood, or something less noticeable and more stock look like.

a body kit can look pretty nice if it looks clean. such as a c-west body kit. but either then that most of them are too aggressive for my taste.

I love my kit. Some people say its rice, but I dont care. It looks good to me. Wings West kits are urathane (just like stock parts) so they dont crack unless you really nail something. If you like kits, then get a kit. If you dont like kits then dont.

p.s. thieves will steal ANYTHING. kit or not.

I have to agree with this, IMO i would much rather spend the money on something thats actually going to be functional, after all, what's the point in buying something that doesn't actually do anything apart from attract attention from theives and usually makes your car look worse....

do you really want to look like this:

or this..

I just think these cars look hideous

I think it all depends on your own personal philosophy of cars and the direction you want to take your own.

The body kits certainly do look exotic and I enjoy looking at them. Personally, though, my own ends are performance based. So when you think about performance, body kits add weight and they change the profile of the aerodynamics. Honda engineers designed the body of a vehicle to cut through the air as efficiently as possible, so changing your car's physical profile will give unknown results.

Like I said, you could care less about that nit-picky stuff, but to me, it matters.

I want everything on my vehicle to have a function. But I'm always a sucker for a good wing.

personally i like only Mugen, Spoon, or OEM style lips all around..... when i was a youngin i liked the whole Body Kit scene .... but not anymore

1. they don't sit right
2. they are mostly fiber glass and break easily
3. they don't look clean and allot of ppl like the clean look
4. money better spent on other things
