do it the right way, pull the axle, regrease it and put a new boot on it. your axle will be fine if you get it fixed fast enough. once the boot pops off one end and you get dirt in there, its fukced.

I'd be taking that axle shaft back to Napa for a new one. If you don't have the receipt you can try to re-secure the boot by using a new clamp. I usually just use Band-it clamps or hose clamps. The ones that come on the axles stock are a real PITA to clamp tight.
Btw, do you not have an Advance Auto Parts in your area? I've had tons of luck with them since I started working on cars years ago. I just picked up a new axle shaft from them for my girlfriend's 97 DX and it was like 50 bucks for a brand new one with lifetime warranty.

advnace and autozone are nice because they can look up your warrenty info. autozone has a network so they can look it up anywhere. with advance you have to know which store you bought it at and they will call to verify. but either way your covered. i only go to napa for bolts and such. plus autozone and advance will price match napa if their part is cheaper. if napa had a computerized warrenty system id be going there because theyre closer.
