Default BLOWN PISTON RING I THINK. NEED HELP!!!! STUCK IN PHILLY!!!

Ok i bought this turbo civic with a b18c-1 engine in it. the guy said when i got it that one of the rings was blown. Based simply on the fact that there is oil on the one spark plug. Based on this I ordered new rings and a friend was supposed to do the job. he took most of the enigine apart and now he is nowhere to be found. I have no clue what im doing. this is my first honda. I need to get this back together so i can get it back to LA where i live. Im in philly now. What I need is either someone in the area who knows how this who can do the job, or instructions on how to do it myself. To be honest im not 100% sure that the ring is bad. I was told that sometimes when you put synthetic oil in these cars it causes blowby. is there any truth in that? The former owner stated that it only started doing this after he put synthetic oil in. Can ANYONE help?

I think i am going to have to attempt to do this myself, how hard of a project is this anyway? If i dont have this figured out by wed i am going to have to sell the car and just go back to LA without it. Which i would hate to do.

just toss in some cheapo d15, drive it home with the b18 in the hatch, and then tear the engine apart here, or sell it to me *** is for cheapo. But at least buy a d15 for like 100 bucks and throw it in to drive.

man, just buy a helms manual from ebay for about $2 and take your **** apart. At worst, hire a tow company to tow your **** to the nearest person who can help. I would say look in FAQ but i dont think that there is a FAQ page on piston rings....I'd post up my helms manual but H-T got introuble from Helms about that.....Helms and their damn copyright issues, I mean just because they wrote the book and took apart a car to write it doesnt mean they can control me giving their $70 book, bought for $1 off of ebay, to you for free, damn commie helms!!!! j/k

If he had the know-how to do an engine swap i would think he would have the know-how to change piston rings. to your idea. Just tow it if you dont know what your doing.
