Blown Headgasket or fan problem?
Hey I got 1995 civic lx. It's got about 225k on it. It's had a blown headgasket for about 10k miles I used blue devil head gasket sealer and it worked that long. Now it's overheating again.
I haven't got the fan to turn on while it's idling. I checked the fan by wiring it to battery and it was good. I jumped it at the fan switch it was good. I replaced the coolant fan switch also. I ran another bottle of blue devil through it again and let it idle for about 50 minutes with a portable fan blowing on it, didn't overheat.
Ok so I was burping the coolant and it just keeps burping for about 20 minutes. It was kind of blowing out of the radiator all over in increments. It never stopped so I put the cap back on and there was white residue around the cap and it started overheating.
I tried to describe what's going on the best I can, I appreciate any help, I don't want to give up on this car..

Replace the head gasket.
Probably also need a new radiator, Blue Devil will clog them up. It doesn't stop the leak inside the engine either. A total waste of $30, which is what a new head gasket costs.

Ok, so far so good, I got the head off and I'm cleaning the pistons, valves, and old gaskets, ect... I was wondering if I had to go as far as replacing the water pump also? I looked into this and it looks like a bit of work for me. The timing belt and pump were replaced at 180k before. I don't want to go down and do this for nothing. Thanks
