I bought a 2000 civic just before xmas. The blower works when it wants to, but only when the car has warmed up. (I see a ton of it works at only certain speeds but nope...any speed once it decides to come on). Checked fuses inside and out. SO...finally I got the motor out. Godzilla tightened those bolts. The motor worked ok when straight to the battery but it looked worn and rusty and I changed it anyway. Took the panel with the switches out but don't see anything lose and it seems to work ok. Turn the **** and it does the right thing once it decides to come on. I freeze to death all the way home from work and it starts blowing just about the time I pull in the drive...grrrrr. I dug out the multimeter but it seems like it could be a pile of things and I could be there for days trying to figure this out. Hasn't someone heard of this?
ALSO....It was obviously a repo-a pawn shop had it before the guy I got it from. Ignition obviously changed. Sometimes I really have to fight with it to let me take the key out. Usual fix is moving the wheel, stepping on the brake and restarting-or a combination of those with some screaming. It seems way out of my league but just wondering what it needs to make it act right.
