um i think that it highly restricts the coolant flow to the top of the block i.e more heat. ask mistabone about this one

I gotta blockguard on my D16.

I have no idea why you call them "ricer parts" but they do the job.

better safe than sorry.

Mista bone, please elaborate. Why would you say block guard = ricer parts?

uneven coolant flow and heat dispitattion.

BTW 13.5 on a stock block Z6 with 75 shot last year. With new mods it will be in the 12's.

Did I mention only ONE FREAKING CAM???????

Ah, I see. So what do you suggest instead of a blockguard to reinforce the engine?

(BTW, I dont get why someone said I bet he runs 13's or slower, like thats a bad thing with a d16!?!?)

the other option would be to re-sleeve but that costs about $1000.

I had a d16z6 with a block gaurd...it had cooling problems. In the summer in traffic i had the have the heater on full (which really sucked) and it would still run super super hot. I had a double core del sol radiator too. When i build my next sohc motor i didnt use the block gaurd and i wont use one again.

The honda sleeves are proven to last with good tuning....as long as you keep the boost reasonable you'll be fine.
