What are you asking specifically? Your giant run-on sentence is one ball of confusion. If it's going to be the wife's car then leave it alone.

if your wife is going to be driving it she wont be watching the coolant temp or oil pressure etc, and when something goes wrong your going to have big issues.
tuners cars are meant for dudes cuz they pay attention. (most dudes)

Again with the run-on sentences. Try the FAQs since these are frequently asked questions. https://honda-tech.com/forums/honda-civic-del-sol-1992-2000-1/faqs-frequently-asked-tech-questions-1998336/

We have no idea WTF is in your engine bay. It could be swapped for all we know. Don't catch an attitude if you're going to post gibberish. This is a tech forum. As in technical. As in dealing with facts & precision.

Post a pic of what's in your engine bay.

Default Re: block names

the block does not have a "name". The Engine has a series and size, type. For example,

B18C1
B= B series (Dual Overhead cam)
18 = 1.8 liter
c1 = GSR

D15b
D= D Series (Single over head cam)
15 = 1.5 liter
b = Style of engine (without a number after the second letter states its a motor from Japan, or JDM motor.

There are many variations to the d series motors as well as the other series. Start by searching google and asking the different Series of engines Honda/Acura has and learn what the differences as well as pros/cons of each engine.

That doesnt even account for a mini-me or some other frankenstein swap such as an LS-VTEC or a B20 swap.

Your 93 LX civic should have a D15B7 if it's never been tampered with. Please type formal, otherwise you're not going to get the answers you expect if you don't put any effort in your spelling, grammar, and punctuation.

Here's where the engine code is located on 92-00 civics: http://asia.vtec.net/topics/enginecode.html

Here's a list of motor codes: https://honda-tech.com/forums/honda-civic-del-sol-1992-2000-1/honda-motor-codes-2105704/

It will freqently be quite dirty, but can always be found on the block, to the left of the exhaust manifold. If you're concerned about a previous owner putting together a hybrid motor such as a "Mini me", you can check the head code: https://honda-tech.com/forums/tech-misc-15/d-series-head-codes-786093/

Hope this helps. BTW if you ever need this information again, it can be found in the FAQ sticky.

My First thought He should forget about investing money in the swap and instead use it on some English classes

Agreed. Its difficult to understand the question when there is no basic knowledge of english. There for it is difficult to give an answer to something I don't understand.

But like posted earlier, its most likey a D15b7. Its a D-series, non-vtec, 1.5l motor. If you're looking for a twin turbo, get a 2JZ, RB26 or 13B. All 3 are easily capable of 300whp with basic bolt ons.
