si tranny for acceleration. only question is why the si block? why not a gsr, ls, b20? just question not flaming haha. i just think youll get way more power out of one of those blocks compared to a b16 block.

Right and since you are building the block all motor, you will want to rev high which means the b16 head will be more efficent.

The combustion chamber or w/e is smaller in the GSR head so it creates more compression. And don't listen to all the B16 head flows better and whatnot. Its not that much of a difference.

As for tranny: ITR or B16 (Y21, S4C)

It'd be probably cheaper and more efficent to do a b18b/b20b block and a b16 head, and then a b16 tranny with LS 5th gear.

Wewt.

No its fine. Just letting you know some info. As for staying N/A, will you be sticking with the 1.6?

all motor no budget, woot woot go for k20 haha j/k. my buddy has a b20 vtec (b16 head, b20 block, b16 pistons) and got 182 whp with intake and exhaust. so combos are good buds.

No budget.
I would recommend the b18c block with choice of pistons, better rods. B16 head ported polished with minimum type r cams upgraded valvetrain.

I have a lsd Y21 and love it but I also agree with Eran as I will be in the market for an LS 5th gear. 3700 rpm's at 70 mph is not that fun after a while.

Good luck with your build and I recommend the b18c for simple fact of better rod/stroke ratio and vtec oiling is already routed. That is why I like them over the ls b18.

Otherwise I have a B16A block I would part out with as well.
