Default Blinker not turning off automatically

I have a '96 Civic DX coupe and the blinker does not turn off automatically when I complete my turn ( I have to manually turn it off). I also noticed the blinker turns off on its own after the car has been sitting with the sun pointed towards the dash for a couple of hours on a hot day usually over 85 degrees. Any help on what could cause the problem?

Also check the cable reel alignment.
