Default Blacken Rear Bumper :\

Hey guys i was just wondering what can i do to prevent my rear bumper to continue getting covered in carbon? Some guy told about some stuff i can buy at autozone for it but i forgot what its called. Any help. Positive feedback only please. Thanks alot. I have a 96 civic dx with d16y7, pos intake and a wack *** Matrix tip exhaust.

Well, if the carbon is dry/dusty, then you are running too rich. If the carbon is speckled/wet, then you are burning oil. Either way, it's not a quick fix.

EDIT: Just saw the pic. Looks like you are running rich. Any CEL? Engine modified where it would require tuning?

my hatch did this...the rings were bad and it kept burning oil. but the black stuff was all over the hatch. so if it is just above the exhaust...your probably just running rich.

ok so i actually did some searchin on HT and well ive been reading that it might be a bad fuel filter OR bad injectors. Im not getting and CEL's so its not the O2 or MAP. so i might change the Fuel filter and see if thats my main problem. i also read that getting a AEM fuel regulator might do the trick. but the thing is i dont want to but too much emphesis on this engine, because im trying to save for a gsr or H22, Please No Comment About that!

You still have the factory catalytic converter on it?

Clean it off man, that's really you're only option. Since you're broke, not really much you can do.
