Default Black gunk

Oka on my drivers side brakes theres a bunch of black gunk all over the place.Im not sure what it is.Can someone help me? and let me kno how much it will cost to fix it.

I just looked at the post called emergency.It looks to be the same problem but his is blue.

busted cv boot? is it cv grease?

Your cv joint boots are cracked open. This causes the grease in the joint to spew out when the axles rotate (when you drive the car). You might be able tho get away with just replacing the boots, but it's usually recommended that you replace the axles when this occurs. When the boots are totally open like that it allows dirt and debris to enter the joint which eventually destroys it. If you want to just re-boot them, the Honda boot kits are about $65 per axle (for inner and outer boots). Cheaper if you go aftermarket (of course). The labor to put them on is what usually kills people. I'd recommend just buying a set of reman aftermarket axles (they usually have lifetime warrantys) and putting them in. It will save you some labor$$. The whole axle is usually around $50-100 depending where you get them.

to the above post. i can clearly see the busted boot. get new axle or have
someone replace the boot.

Yep...it's not worth it to take the axle out just to replace the boot. Plus if the grease has all come out the joint probably has considerable damage that warrents replacement.
