I have personally used black vinyl paint, and for the past few years since I've done it, it sticks.... to the vinyl parts that is. No chipping for my, as the vinyl paint works great on the vinyl. As far as the plastic parts, I didnt' prep it well at first. I know this, as the parts that I did prep (sanding, paint preping spray) they still hold up great. So if you plan on using the vinyl paint, it works great on the dash and door panels. As far as the normail plastic parts, I'd recommend extra time on the preping, or see if you can find the black plastic equivalents.

hey well i re do my dash and paint it black with krylon plastic paint
it came out pretty good.. but there are some spot you need just the regular paint so up to you if you want to do all that work it took me awhile...
