Bitch pin phun!
Trying to get my shift linkage off of my transmission and like everyone before me I'm having bitch pin problems. It's soakin in wd 40 and liquid wrench at the moment, and if that doesnt work i plan on goin and findin some pb blaster. If the pb blaster doesn't work, Just go for a propane torch?

And once you get it started with that, it's not so bad

Re: Bitch pin phun! (Steemo)
if all else fails, u can take an exhaust bolt which should be a 14mm, put it over the pin and juss bang it. this ALWAYS works for me. a lil wd40 would help also

Been bangin at it for a half hour or so. Just to clarify, it is the pin under that boot off the tranny and you have to take off the clip covering it right? Just to be absolutely sure. Also, I'm goin' at it with the pb blaster..... hopin that stuff works, I'm a believer in it. Great stuff.

like said before, i couldnt even get mine out with the tool. just pull it out with everything else and go at it once you dont have to squeeze under the car. worked out fine for me.

or a 5/16th punch if you are unable to find 8mm. A hammer with a good amount of weight helps as well. Give it a spritz of pb blaster or wd40 whichever you have. The first time I removed mine was a bitch, but since its cake.

Re: Bitch pin phun! (h22dude)
since i was doing a motor swap and was using different linkage, i just grinded the shift linkage off before the pin. took the motor out and it was easy as pie. oh i used a drill bit that was exactly 8mm in diameter. putting it back in was easy too. just take your time!

yeah what if you are swapping d series trannies? Just to pull it out with that tranny I always disconnect the shiftlinkage, then knock it out if I need too. Use an 8 mm punch or something that fits just right (not too small not to big). Also the pin has a tendency coming out only one way (from the bottom of the tranny up, if I remember right). I just use a big *** hammer and a punch and I get it out in like 2-5 swings.

Re: Bitch pin phun! (Sideout)
alright this is what you gotta do!!! i just did this on my friends rex, the bitch pin is def. a bitch, but do this...
grab a gear puller, and set the arms on the inside settin (like for smaller gears) and put them around the linkage with the inside screw thing to screw the pin out. takes like 3 mins, and a lot of screwing. just be careful that you are fully in the pin so it doesn't "walk" out. it makes the bitch pin look more like a non-bitch pin. just make sure it is on there good and tight and that it doesn't walk. it is really easy. just screw it out with the gear puller.

i know this is off topic but it does deal with shift linkage. but for puttin a b18c in a h/b which would be better to use:
the civic links or the teg links?
