Re: bitch pin (Steve Berman)
Are you talking about the pin for the shift linkage on the tranny?
Get a punch which fits the pin properly. Have the car jacked up nice and high. Start pounding.
Hints: 4lbs hammer, no less.

bitch pin.... thats a great name for it. i ended up pulling my engine w/ the linkage still attached. had to jack the car up, plus the engine. definitely a bitch. just grind on an air hammer punch until its a rod the same diameter of the pin. if you use something that fits into the end of the pin, youll never get it out. but use the air hammer, and BAM!! out goes the bitch pin. BTW this is the official new name for it

Re: bitch pin (Steve Berman)
I actually used a punch that fit inside and then tappered to hit the pin. This way the puch would stay in sort of wedged and I could use both hands on the hammer to smack the **** out of it while on my back under the car. Once I got it about half way I then used the appropriate puch to knock it through the rest of the way. Bitch pin indeed.

Re: bitch pin (EKhatch)
thanks for the ideas guys.
Heres what I ended up doing for future reference. I used a 12 MM ac compressor bolt with a deepwell 12MM socket and two big *** extensions. I put hte bolt in the Socket and connected the big *** extensions, then ran them down through the top of the engine bay onto the bitch pin. Then hammered on the end of theextensions untill pop, it came right out. 6 beatings max. When putting in the gsr engine, it dosent look like you can access it from the top but you can on the cx motor.

I have a 1/4" flat end punch that works every time. The 10mm bolt method will work in a pinch but the punch tool is less than 10$ at any auto parts store and is much easier to hold. Your fingers will thank you.

If i had a dollar for every vulagr word i uttered to those pins over the years id be giving out ITR motors like candy. Bottom line, i dont care if u have the jaws of life, dont count on it being easy. Even with the punch, it still needed its *** to get kicked.
