Default Bigger piping?

I bought a used DragunFire muffler off a buddy. I'm wondering what would be better.... leave the stock piping and just get the muffler welded on , or get 2 1/4 piping from the cat back ? is there any real problems this might produce with the engine? any performance gains? the only thing i have done the engine is an AEM short ram intake.

The guy at the shop said he'd do it for 160 CAN... thats putting everything on with 2 1/4 inch pipe. i guess the real question is it worth the money... 40 bucks compared to 160.

Input appreciated
thanx.

the stock piping in the civics are pretty restrictive..only to get any torque out of the motor..the larger piping will give u more in the rpm range but a little less under 2.5K

Yeah on 21/4" piping. It's not a huge difference, but if you do that along with all the other bolt ons I'm sure you're planning on, you will be able to tell a noticable difference. As my boss once told me " A bunch of small rocks can turn into a mountain!" A good header will make a nice improvement, too, as well as give it that much more aggresive exhaust tone Good Luck!

Now I don't know if this is true for for the 95 civics, but I drive a 99 EX and I bought a rear section exhaust from 5Zigen like last year. When I took it into the muffler shop to get it installed and have the piping done the guy at the shop told me that I already had 2 1/4 piping on my car already so he told me to just save the money b/c it wouldn't make a difference. But like I said I don't know if that's the same on the 95.

yeap, stock Civic piping is alread 2.23 size. Just increase it to 2.5-2.73. Only go bigger diameter if ur running a Turbo kit or else you loose torque
