b18b is better only if you want to go ls/vtec = more displacement
b18c1 with a b16 head will lose compression
b18c with a b16 head will kinda be like an itr but your using a b16 head
b18b(ls)= cheap but you should have it built and you must tap your b16 head for an oil line
b18c1(usdm gsr)= expensive block and you will lose compression. A b18c1 head is best for it
b18c(jdm itr)= SUPER EXPENSIVE BLOCK! if you get a good deal then I say get that and use your b16 head.
out of all the torque in the world for 1.8 liters then the b18b block is the best = ls/vtec and if you want the ultimate B series torque master than a b20 block is best = b20/vtec
