best way to clean rims
i bought some vx rims (made of aluminum i think) that has very bad brake dust/crap on the wheels. i tried scrubbing it hard with a towel and part of it comes off. the dust comes off if i use a flathead and scrape it, but it takes a long time to do the whole wheel.
is there a wheel cleaner that is powerful enough to break up the crap?

i always clean my wheels with simple green. Spray them down with simple green and use a sponge and soap, then wash off.

Napa sells Aluminum wheel cleaner. I forgot what it was called but it worked great. It came in a tin can and was a cotton type of fiber you rubbed on the wheels.
Or Simple green.. you could pull them off your car and use break cleaner just make sure not to get your valve stem or tire

try to clean it with regular heinz vinegar with soft towel.
I have hx rims with lots of brake dust and therefore stick to the rims. I used regular vinegar and polish with meguiars gold and it works great.
