Re: This is the best sway bar for your EK....period! (Halo)
Notice that the CTR setup includes the entire front LCA and forks? The sway bar acuall mounts onto the LCA unlike those POS ST and Nuespeed swaybar sets

So do you have to buy the entire CTR rear supension or just the forks and LCA's? How much will that converion run? I'm interested...

Re:
Hmm well that would be the underside of my car. It took awhile for me to realize that because I don't remember taking that exact picture, but I guess I did! Anyway featured in the pic are Si LCAs, forks and sway bar. Stuff you can find at the junkyard if your lucky. Which reminds me that I need to make a write up on my website about that install...

heh, stupid me.....guess we're talking about the front suspension. Although I'm not sure why anyone would want to add a larger front sway..... unless they want more understeer of course.

Re: Re: (merritr)
I ordered a CTR front set up (looks identical to merritr's) 1 week back and when I got the kit in the mail I was totally confused on how the hell this thing would mount up to my EK, when I found this of merritr's bar set up online Anyways thanks it made the install go much more smoothly.
It blows my mind how company's like ST would have people use the stock EK LCA's, when the CTR LCA are available and bolt straight in.

you mean less understeer right? Or more oversteer, same thing.

Re:
Yeah installing CTR or Si front LCAs is just a good thing to do if you're going to be doing a lot of modifications to your car. There isn't much to the stock LCAs. Something beefier is really needed hince why CTRs and SIs have thicker, more substantle LCAs.

Re: Re: (Mista Bone)
NO, bigger bar in front means MORE understeer.
Bigger bar = less traction at the end installed when compared to other end.

It doesn't take a genius to figure out if the reverse is true (bigger bar at the FRONT), then you'd have MORE understeer. Sheez.

Re: Re: (Supersonic DC2)
try driving a cx with a 22mm rear bar and no front bar its fun very fun but my tires suck so it still pushes because the fronts cant grip as well as they should when i get my azenis but the lift throttle oversteer is fun

What do the neuspeed and ST front swaybars mount to? Doesn't seem effective if they don't attach to the lca's...

They DO attach to the stock LCA's, in exactly the same way, or through an adapter kit provided by ST.
I'm not exactly sure what Halo's gripe is here. My front ST sway bar is attached to "puny" little DX control arms via the ST adapter kit. How horrible is it? I dunno, because the stock LCA's have endured 3 1/2 years of hard autocrossing (50+ to date) on 13 x 9 inch Hoosier clad race wheels, including trophies at the divisional and national events.
Of course, there is an extremely small group of very experience racers who own dedicated race cars (trailor queens) with 1000 lb spring rates, 30mm sway bars, and external resevoir shocks who just might be able to feel some difference between one LCA and another. Halo, are you into offroad rally or something? Sorry to sound harsh, but you've made a harsh claim with very little to back it up.

Re: This is the best sway bar for your EK....period! (fsp31)
Im not a pro racer just a guy who has been around suspensions to know the difference between crap. I'll tell you guys a little story about ST, if this didn't happen to you then but want to avoid any flame wars.
8 months back taking it slow around a corner I hear a **SNAP**, my car is getting squirrly so I pull over and see my rear lca's almost torn out of the IBEAM. Next day the car can't even be driven (flatbedtow) to the dealer, the ST set caused close to $1k in damage, when I call ST the guy says "hey sorry bro these are for offroad use only"

Re: This is the best sway bar for your EK....period! (DeceitfulCivic)
nothing for now, still deciding on whether I should spend $400 for the comptech rear swaybar/tiebar. Also thinking about getting an Si rear bar but haven't figured out yet what I can use to reinforce the rear, still kinda paranoid about putting a rer bar on due to my experience
