well what do you want to do with your car? and what does built d series mean? if you have to just save up and wait for a b series. you should be able to find an ls for a good price.

It's impossible to answer this question.

What swap you'll get will depend on:

Budget
Time
know-how
convenience
preference
goals
track or not to track

I'm going with an h2b when I can afford it, with good tired my car will be in the 12's with the stock motor. The whole setup should cost me about $3500-$4000 installed by me.

A good budget setup that's reliable would be an LS/turbo with a b16/gsr tranny, stock motor, and a used turbo kit can be all had for about $2000-$2500 tuned and you can put your car in the 12's, high 11's. About what a b16 costs from a dealer which only makes your car a 15-16 second car.

You could also swap in a y8 with a y8 tranny and boost it for less than $2000 and get good numbers. A swap most beginners are very capable of given patience and a helms.

Those are only a few examples, not everyone can afford 2 months and the $7000-$10,000 it takes to do a k20a swap. Not everyone wants to go out on a limb and do something different, like a SOHC F-series, or an h2b, F2d, b2d, etc. Spend time here and research and you'll find the right one for you.

Yallz needz a hi performance johnson strut.

You need to tell us your normal budget, the type of drive you're looking for, whether you want boost for the sake of boost, if you think you need it for power, do you want super power, or do you want a modest DD, do you like all motor....

And still we may say we can't answer this. The best you can do is do some research on the different motors you've put down as choices, narrow them down, buy one, then come back to H-T and tell us how everything's going.

For that price/hp range you could easily hit that with an OBD2 B18b1 and a pieced-together turbo kit.

D-turbo

ls-turbo

b16-turbo

h2b/h22-turbo (on a budget with locally found parts and/or a used h2b kit)

will all get you there for that price.

What's wrong with daily driving an h22?

Prelude owners seem fine with it.

If anything, I wouldn't want to daily something with a b16 and it's hella short 5th gear.
