Default Best SOHC engine to Turbo

I got a 96 civic Hx. (coupe)
Wondering what would be the best SOHC engine to boost.
D16y8?
i heard the d15b was good too.
so... whats up? anyone got any tips or opinions?

im boosting up my y7. i got a greddy 15g kit, hope its good, all i want is 300whp after building it

well a non vtec motor would be ideal i would think since its lower compression but ppl boost everything nowa days, good luck with ur build

Your best bet is to get either a Z6 or a Y8. The lower compression of the non-VTEC's is not a big deal since you're limited to around 220-240whp on the stock block anyway. With a decent turbo setup and a good tune, you can safely make that power on any D series regardless of stock compression.

92-95 dx motor... its pretty stout, great rod ratio... and they are a dime a dozen WHEN you blow it up

personally i use them for door stoppers, paperweights and crazy fish tanks
