By best, which criteria are we basing it on? Shortest throw, most comfortable, fanciest looking?
A GSR shifter is shorter than a stock Civic shifter, but not as short as aftermarket, or as expensive. A B&M is a shorter, a nice price, and has a brushed sort of finish. A Skunk2, I'm not sure on throw, but it's smoother.
An eBay shifter is cheap, but it will break and likely leave you stranded at the worst time possible.

I have a Skunk2 in my EJ1, I have been using it for years, back when I was still running my D-Series. Its not the Dual Bend. But I like it, its alot shorter throw than stock, I have the Skunk2 **** to go along with it.

IIRC, I have heard of people using ITR shifters in there Civics and its suppose to be a nice setup, or I might be thinking GSR like Thumper was stating.

I also have the Skunk 2 single-bend with the Skunk2 Heavy Shift knub. It feels okay and I have had it for about a good 5+ years with no problems. I just wish it stood a little taller and futher from me and closer to the steering wheel.

B&M race shifter is about the best that money can buy... About $150 new.

For most cars, a B&M dual bend or S2 dual bend is fine.

You can check out Nopi.com they have a cheaper brand short shifter, I think might be there brand, and they have the more expensive ones too at pretty good prices.

Nothing beats the TWM Performance Dual-bend in terms of quality. I saw that its on sale this month too

http://www.twmperformance.com/shorts...rtshifters.htm

Had it on my car for many years. Shifts smoother than the skunk2 (my brother had one in his EK also and removed it cause he didn't like it) and is comfortable for daily driving....not too aggressive.

Not all Ebay shifters are bad. Some have had them break, some not. Alot of people(me included)tend to go with something that has a great reputation, generally for piece of mind that the parts not likely to fail. Piece of mind goes along way for most folks.

I bought an ebay short shifter and it works well enough for me until I get the money for a 200usd short shifter.

What are all these $200 short shifters people are talking about? I mean I paid IIRC like $80 for my single bend Skunk2 brand new, and that was at a shop I didn't like cause they were known for having high prices. I bought the Skunk2 **** there to for like $50 new. $200 for a short throw shifter?

I like the B&M, but the throw isn't that much more than a GSR. It's just heavier, giving it a more solid feel and looks nicer, plus a little shorter throw. And IIRC, the GSR and ITR are the same.

If all you're after is a short throw, you can cut your stock shifter and lengthen the bottom section about 1/2-3/4"

I had a ebay brand once and eventually it broke apart...
and not I have my skunk2 single band and it works good.
Some of my buddy told me to get a buddyclub one but I think I don't need to spend too much for just a short throw shifter.

Word! My skunk2 felt ok on my old D-series but really the throw didn't feel that much shorter compared to stock. The same setup on my B-Series is alot different, its better, shorter throw and all. Guess its the way the B-series linkage is setup or something.

I have a skunk2 dual bend shifter and skunk2 weighted shift **** on a B-series & D-series and I would definitely recommend it. It is very smooth and the throw is much shorter i found on both the D & the B. Very good choice for a quality product.

skunk 2 makes or used to make the dual bend short throw, similar to the GSR shifter. obviously though with a shorter throw than the GSR..... it's quite smooth as well.
