Default Best seats for long drives In eg

Hey, I have read numerous threads about the most comfortable seats in egs. Most people seem to like del sol seats because they hug your body well. Many othera like Integra seats. I'm using my car for long road trips etc. The current stock eg seats hurt my back after a while. I'm looking for the most comfortable seats for long drives. Can anyone tell me what the best is for that purpose and not for racing

Del sol hugs, meaning if your taking turns hard you won't fall out of your seat. Integra seats...there ok now that I've had an integra previously. Not to mention most seats of that age (92-00) are probably worn the hell out. Your best bet is to look for something newer, rsx, civic si (fd2 model). These will require modification.

I'm personally a huge fan of my Acura CL Sport seats. They required some modification (angle grinder) to fit into my EJ6. I'm not sure what would be involved in making them fit into a 5G, but I'm sure someone committed enough could make it work.

if you want a comfy stock seat for long trips
i would reccomend 3rd gen prelude seats

ive had them for years and they show no signs of getting old
and they can adjust if you have any kind of back pain
i used these on my long trip thru south America last year
they work great ^_^

they dont drop right in thou
i had to do some cutting and re welding
but they are well worth it
most comfy honda seats ive ever had
and there from 1990 ^_-

Any more info on what specific modifications are needed to install prelude seats?

I'm also just gonna go ahead and drop this here for you...

FAQ: Honda/Acura Seat Compatibility and DIY Seat Pan Swap...EDUCATE YOURSELF!

It's not inclusive, but it'll give you a list of things that're easy to install.

I installed 2001 Mercury Cougar seats into my Daily DelSol with a lot of bracket mods but the height is just right and the car has made numerous 1000+ mile trips without any comfort issue with me. I liked the look of the seats and the comfort followed.
They are still adjustable in every way and the Cougar seats have electric tilt backs and electric lumbar support.

go sit in seats and see what fits you. no telling what size or shape everyone is. the only seats in any vehicle i have owned I did not like for long trips were in my tacoma. other than that almost all ahve worked well for me.

will lots of people on here will tell you to do a seat pan swap

but what i did was cut off the holes on the brackets of the seats

wait you know what ill show you my work haha!!
if you can weld or have a way to weld these on
then heres what i did years ago

enjoy

cut off the SHOES with my grinder

then you put the seat in the car with the shoes bolted in to your stock holes already
and find where you want it and mark where your going to reweld the shoes in place

make sure that you clean up your splatter and spray some kind of paint over your welds when finished otherwise they well start to rust

i also tried a few seats till i found the ones that felt the best for me

i hope this helps

Delsols are cheap, and all you have to do is switch the rails with your eg seats. I had them in my EK and got in a wreck and I made sure to hold on to them as they are really comfortable to me, being 6'1" 185lbs. I currently have them in my eg hatch and I'd say they're more comfortable than the DC2 ITR seats I have in my 4dr eg.

i have s2k seats in my ej and there alright for an hour or shorter ride but anything longer than that and they become uncomfortable, honestly my brothers civic with the stock 99 ex cloths is more comfortable on long trips

Thank you very much for everyones replies. Im still trying to figure out what i want to do for sure. I had a 98 ex coupe and those seats never used to hurt my back like the eg seats do. I just want the most comfortable possible for long drives. Those cougar seats almost sound kind of interesting. Del sol seats are very hard to find here in Idaho. I also forgot to give some more background I put 99 si seats in for a while and swapped the rails but I sat way too high up for my taste.

Change the seat pans, if you do that you'll get rid of height and also get rid of adjusting the lower part of the seat. You'll still be able to recline and what not.

I would totally run those seats if they sit as high as the stock eg seats. is it hard to do? the only write up i can find for a pan swap is this.

is this the same concept?

I've only dealt with easy seat swaps for my ej8

I love delsols / recaros/ s2k (ap2). Ap1 I didn't like my head fitting in the net. Felt weird
Hated ek stocks with passion
Eg was ok but sit hit
Integra gsr/ls was ok but after while back/ *** hurts

Most comfy I've had in mine was my leather/electric 1969 Cadillac elderados,I had to body drop my car to get them to fit but it was the equivalent of having laz boy recliners in your eg!
