Best rod/piston/crank combo for LSvtec aftermaket or stock???
aight guys im considering on going LSvtec in my EG hb but i want to make sure i do it right the first time. the setup i will be working with is a b16 head w/ b18B block. i have both complete motors and was wondering which rod/piston/crank combo is best for this setup. if i were to keep it stock internals then what which would be best for this setup? or if i have to go aftermarket then which ones would be best and how much? im trying to see how much it would cost to get it done right completely the first time because ive been seeing a lot of problems with peole over-revving or the block not being able to handle the higher revs. i wanna make sure that if i get it done that i will have a reliable motor and that i will be able to get full capablilties of both the block and the head. if you can let me know what i would need and where i could get it for the cheapest price that would help out a lot. thanx

for pistons, try the ross pistons on Flatlanderracing.com. look them up in the honda section. they're great pistons!! one look and you'll be in love!! oh yeah, they're only $359 for pistons, rings, and wrist pins. for rods, if you've got the money go with crower or something like that. eagles are great as well for the budget racer in mind(holds up to 600hp). i just had my motor rebuilt and got it back this past weekend and i pieced it back together and started it up and damn it sounded beautiful!! no smoke or anything of the sort. it's probably due to the blow holes on the pistons right underneath the lower ring. this pushes the ring out and seals it right away according to one of the techs at Ross. well, hope this helped a bit.
