. best point for vtec?
i`m activating vtec in my b16 with a msd rpm activator switch at 4600rpms with a p75 ecu right now. cause my eg a cx and didnot have vtec wiring. but the deal is that i am gonna throw the 3 cables and use a p28 ecu, so at whcich rpm is the best point fo vtec engagement? so i can chip it fairly. i won`t buy the vafc btw. i`m reving at 8500-9000. (the head is fully built). so what do ya think?

yep. dyno. i think you set your vtec for around 2000, then close to redline. where ever the two lines intersect is the ideal crossover. i think...

makes sense to me, that would set it at the perfect spot so vtec picks up where the low rpm profile left off power wise.

i thought this was gonna be one of those posts where some kid wants to use a vafc to set his vtec crossover to 500 rpms and have mad vtec all the time!

most likely, you would set it higher than stock to take advantage of the higher powerband of the built engine. 5500-6500.... one way to tell without a dyno is set it very high, say 7,000 rpm, and when you start to feel the car taking a big ****, activate vtec about 500 rpm sooner..
