Avoid AutoZone refurb axles.

raxles if you want something that lasts. I thought the extra $40 per side was well worth not having to deal with the autozone/napa reman units that are so hit and miss.

NAPA - get the used ones w/ lifetime warranty. If it goes out again just bring them the bad axle and they will give you a brand new one no charge, no questions. I'm on my third set in 5 years

haha it's all good. With how hard I drive my car, I'm surprised I haven't torn through more. Having to replace axles every 18 months isn't too bad at all

Nappa, and keep the receipt. If they fail, you get new ones.

if they are oem and not making noise just get new boots and repack them with grease, I would rather do that than go with any autoparts stores axles

I got NEW axles from NAPA with a lifetime warranty for my D16Y7. $80 each iirc.

For my B16 I got Raxles, they have held up for years.

whichever you decide to go with just make sure you get new ones instead of the remanufactured ones.

Ok, please back up several opinions, I have installed many axles, both reman. and "new". Both from Autozone and NAPA and I cannot tell any differences in either or. What is wrong with autozone axles, new or used.

What makes NAPA's better? Most axles are replace due to busted boots. If caught in time, the joints are not damaged; i.e. grease is not all slung out. I would assume "new" axles from either are not made by the OEM manufacture , but I do not who that is. Most OEM parts are good , precision made stuff and I would suspect those parts are used in the reman. axles except boots, grease, clamps, nut and clips. Boots that don't break down due to wear will eventually breakdown due to ozone rot.

The only one I have replaced using warranty is because of a damaged boot......that I caused. Autozone said warranty covers that too.

if you go autozone DO NOT get the new ones. they make them with a slightly shorter shaft to save money so they are not as long as the oem. i have an eg with a b16 and the right side kept popping out of the diff. did some research and its kinda common. switched to remans and it hasnt happened since. i dont know about the other place but with vatozone go reman.

I never go to autozone, not for axles or even little stuff. I simply hate their customer service!
