best performance ?
I just bout a 93 civic dx with a D15 to play around with. What would be the best thing to do bolt ons, like a turbo, cam or a motor swap? If i do a motor swap what would get better gass milage a d16 or a LS ? What would I be able to do that wouldn't hurt my 35mpg?

If you're worried about mileage, add a sick suspension setup, a D16Z6 transmission, an MSD ignition and some nice seats. You'll enjoy your car 100x more and get better gas mileage than before.

Just get the whole d16z6 motor and tranny with a nice clutch. You will feel a Bigggg perfomance change. D16z6 is from 92-95 SI or EX. If you shop around it should be under $700. Good power for a buck.
It will hurt your gas milage just a little bit, but I don't see what you can be complaining about because in Texas gas prices are still low.

BTW, my D16Z6 with 250k miles (K&N filter, MSD setup) gets about 30-32mpg with a heavy bias towards city driving. It's a great engine and I recommend it if you can accept a couple mpg less .

Hmmmm...in 5th gear at 70mph I'm probably at 2100-2400 rpm? I'll have to get back to you next time I go that fast. Should be soon .
