Re: Best OFFSET for EG Civics? +35 or +45. (EP3-R)
How wide are the wheels?
If they are 6.5'' wide then I'd think +35 is a tadd too much and would stick out a bit too much.
For a 6.5'' wide wheel a +40 or a +38 offset would be good. +45 will tuck more.
Rota slips are a +40 while the Circuit 8 is a +38 offset in the 6.5'' wide wheels.
For 7'' wide wheels a +42 or +45 is pretty much ideal. SSR Competitions come in +42 as do many nicer semi-forged and forged racing wheels. I believe the 7'' wide Regamasters come in +45 as well.
The higher the +xx, the more they will tuck.

ok so for 16x7in wheels, what's a good offset so that the wheels don't stick out but they fill up the wheel well and are flush with the car? I think I have 42 or 45 and I wish they were set out a bit farther

i think mine are 45 and look damn good. dont know the offset of gsr rims but what ever they are its not enough. most people do not have enough offset and the rims look too skinny on their car.

Re: Best OFFSET for EG Civics? +35 or +45. (Quetzolcotl)
What about a Civic Eg
With 2.25'' lowering in front and 2'' lowering in the rear..
With Rota circuit 8's 15X6.5'' in a 38mm offsett... Is this a good choice??? What size tires could I get and not rub? 195/55/15? 205/50/15?
I asked GT motorsports.com if Rota made a 40mm offsett for the circuit 8 in the 15'' wheel.. two salesmen said.. yes .. and "that is what we are sending to you..."
I come to find out that they fricken screwed up .. or didn't care and lied.. thinking they needed a sale.. and I probably wouldn't send um back... I hear that 38mm offset sucks!!!!! I like circuit 8's a lot.. and I dont' want to have to sell my tires and rebuy new ones... just to go to 16'' wheels..
I wish I had fricken gotten the slipstream... and settled for freakin flatblack spoon knock offs... that don't look that flashy.. (only tough in an N1 racecar sorta way) saved myself the headache and gotten my 40 or 42mm offset and saved 1lb over the circuit 8's. '
I need advice from the experienced.. please let me know if I should just send these suckers back.. and get the slipstreams.. or what!?

Where in the hell did you hear that horseshit from?
I run the widest possible street tires in the 205-50-15 Azenis which are actually more like 217mm rahter than the claimed 205. I do not ever scrape/scrub - period.
There's another topic here where I completely outline what makes tires scrub, and while offest can play a major role in it so can ride height and the amount of camber you have dialed in.

Hey thank you SOOOO much for clearing that rumor up.. I heard that horsecrap.. here from a so called expert... But I presume those are the 15's on your car? or are they 16s? Also.. I was considering that spoon uses a 42mm offset I believe for the dc2 and eg6 sport/tuned cars... w sw388 wheels.. so I thought 38mm might rub the outside fender... I am going to start w/ bf goodridge euro Ta's 205/55/15s (set of four 50bucks at junkyard) I plan to switch to 205/50s in the azenis also.. good bang for buck tire... or a 195/55/15 .. I was also considering potenzas.. but they are high! and don't last very long...
By the way, do you have a link to that thread that you were mentioning earlier?
