Default Best hood to lower under hood temp

Hey guys. I have an EG hatch with a gsr turbo set up. My under hood temp is kind of high and i was wondering what style hood is the best at cooling your engine bay. I know some hoods are made for looks and some actually for function so which hood is the best at doing what i need? Construction material is not important and weight really isnt that big of an issue. Thanks in advance

First try lowering the underhood temp by isolating the turbo. I've seen turbo 'bag' things that keep the turbocharger insulated. You could also use header wrap on your downpipe, manifold, etc.

If you want, you can then put longer bolts with washers on your hood hinges. This will make the hood sit higher in the back, allowing more air to flow in it.

If that doesnt work then look into some carbon fiber or fiberglass hoods with scoops.

That thing is COOL. And it is actually USEFUL!

Try the free hood mod before you go and spend 700 bucks on that though

At $682 its tight but I would NEVER pay that much.

Here's a cheap alternative.

This is what I'm gonna do.

I would also suggest a turbo blanket like said and thermal coat your manifold. Heat wrap your downpipe too. I did all of these then some.

I HATE THE GHEY *** WASHER TRICK ON THE BACK OF THE HOOD

oh and by the way, this topic was covered MANY TIMES RECENTLY
