Default Best Header for D16Z6

I read that B and D series exhaust manifolds are not interchangeable. I'll probably do a complete b16a swap later on anyway, but for now, i'll keep my SOHC.

What header would u recommended for performance and/or looks (oem or aftermarket) for a D16Z6 and what would be needed to ensure it fits?

What's your budget, and do you want a good header or just something to use until you swap out the D?

The SMSP header is an excellent choice for the D-series, and while it is a bit more expensive than many "off-the-shelf" headers, the quality and performance are superb.

Not that much of a hp increase.....maybe like 5 hp......But it lets your engine breathe a lot more

Lets say i get a pod filter too, and get 3hp increase. Then i get the header with 5hp increase, would that mean 8hp increase overall?

While im at it, how about a better intake manifold, around how much would that increase hp?

I used a 99-00 D16y8 stock header/mani, it's like the JDM ITR header for D series, it wasn't bad

That sounds sick! I love the itr exhaust manifold. With the d16y8 header, was it a straight bolt on or did you have to make modifications?

all d series headers are interchangable, only thing you need to do is extend the wires for the O2 sensor about 12 inches. I got mine for $50 shipped from someone here.

Just visited an acura parts site but they have no image previews of the dc sports. Is there a better integra oem parts site out there?
Also, what is better between the d16y8 stock header and the dc sports?

I saw a pic of the d16y8 stocky and it doesn't resemble the itr at all. Am i looking at the right one?
Heres the d16y8 header on the right, next to the x-force d series header on the left;

Anyone got pics of the dc sports header or can point me somewhere to view it?

The only good D header is a Turbo D header. Dont worry about Headers for your D, if you have a y8 then you are set. just put this header money into the bank for you B swap (or something else).

If its just to keep the car running until the swap, then i think even those wonderfull Ebay headers will be a good buy. They´re cheap, reasonably good quality (at least for the first two months ) and make some horsepower. For their proce, what else can you want?

You have a good point, maybe i should just save up for the b16a. Uhhh... that means more reading up on all those faqs. I get enough ***** from spending too much time on honda forums as it is.

I wouldn't bother modding your D at all if you're saving for a swap.

Dammit u guys r right. Seems every good engine pic has a b-series engine (at least the valve cover anyway). i don't want to be left out especially if im gonna upgrade everything else.
Advice taken.
