Best head for B18b rebuild...?
complete destroy and rebuild of a b18b1. just not sure i want to keep the b18b1 head. 1) needs to be able to pass smog 2) needs to withstand high psi (just incase).
i see a lot of inexpensive b18b1 head rebuilds that work nicely. but is it worth it for the innards when a b20 or something would be better?! help

Re: Best head for B18b rebuild...?
P8R heads from 99 and 00 JDM B20's have 33m valves as opposed to 31mm in the P75. Combustion chamber is 84mm though, so I'm not sure how well it bolts up to a 81mm B18b1 block. You may not have enough "meat" at the top of the sleeves to get a good seal on the combustion chamber.
You might have better luck in the one of the tech forums, FI or All Motor, depending what you're building.
