you can do it with either...depends on how much you want to spend.

A gsr turbo would get you there easiest though.

B20/VTEC, LS/VTEC, and B18C can all get you 13s. GSR turbo can get you 12s.

Now, sweetheart, what makes you think that you can spend very little money and have a reliable car that runs 12 second quarter mile times? You can spray a 200 shot on your D16 and pull a 12 maybe one time or you can slap a GSR motor in your car and run a low-14 on street tires with a great launch and good driving.

There is no "budget 12-second EG" formula that gets you 12's for cheap. Think before you post.

Following up with what Arch said, it's just not realistic. In order for you to have a fast car that is reliable to get you the times you want it's going to cost a pretty penny. If you want to have a fast car, it's not going to be cheap, period.

This is with anything in life, if you want to get a respectable (keyword) well paying job you need to attend a good college to get that education, chances are those schools aren't going to be cheap.

1. Fast
2. Reliable
3. Cheap

"low budget"-boosted ls with stock or even gsr tranny. tons of ppl ran mid to low 12's with slicks making 300whp on stock block. ls swaps come a dime a dozen.

get a D16Z6/D16Y8 and boost - that should give you 12's.

Cheapest would be turbo d series for sure. And you would have money left over to make it reliable compared to a B series turbo setup that's going to put a deeper hole in your wallet. That's not taking horsepower into consideration, you can make a hell of a lot more power with the B series, but it will get you into the 12s.

if you dont have money why build a car what is the point in only building a car part way? why dont you just save up some money and build the car to be exactly what you want it.
