you should be able to with some fine tuning.

THe key is in the launch. and where is that matter in the car? not the engine but the suspension.
You have to have some good stiff rear suspension.

We had a 95 EX coupe, took the seats out.
Modifications were:
DC header, Throttle body, Intake, exhaust, on 14" slicks and a stiffened rear suspension.

It was hitting 14.9 all day at Pomona Raceway.
with your mods, it should be easier to get in the 14's

thats pretty impressive, looks like the same amount a stock gs-r engine puts to the wheels i do not see why you shouldnt be able to pull 14's

Did you dyno your car, or are you guesstimating your whp?

you are really full of **** and you just need to go away and never add any of your input on any thread. Apparently you don't know what honda's are capable of. Your setup should be no better than a high 15. High 14's? Get the **** out of here with that bullshit!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
gay comment.

High 14's are possible w/good driver, but I would say you would get around 130whp not 145whp.

14's with slicks
not with stockies.
a gsr will barley run a low 15 stock and it has more torque that that motor by a long shot.

145 hp sounds right after all those mods.. high 15 is do-able, I dunno about 14.

keeping in mind the stock 127hp will run 18+ seconds on the 1/4

The sohc vtec civic runs mid 16's. I think it is 16.5 to 16.8. I remember seeing a guy with a fully built sohc non vtec that hit a 13.9 in his signature. Where is he at.

Just because some of u guys cant break in to the 15's, doenst mean all others cant.
And keep in mind that a stock civic ex do mid 16's, not 18+.
With those power and weight reduction, better tires and appropriate tire pressure, and pratice can make it mid 15. Well maybe is hard but attainable.
Keep up with the good work.

Can we say ricer! Ha ha my setup is a sleeper and don't pull up to me at the light with my little stock "civic ex" sticker on the back of my gutted coupe cause i just might leave you! And if any of you know about the dif between 5th and 6th gen civics the weight dif is about 200lbs. or so. My car weighs around 2300lbs. gutted. With this setup and that nasty 59300 zex cam i could run 14's all day baby. You people need to practice/perfect your driving so you can all be sleepers like me! j/k baby peace

I really dont know about the other guys on this board and there claims but I can tell you that I ran my 97 hatch when it was bone stock and ended up with a 16.8, that was with crappy no name tires aswell!!!

The car had 106hp and like 100lb/trq, I could see a modded EX being in the 15's but I cant really see it being in the 14's. A friend of mine has an EK hatch with B16A in it, good for 168hp+AEM CAI, he pulls a 14.9 all day. I doubt that a civic EX could pull that, anyway I could be wrong but I wont believe it without slips!!!

my civic dx pulled a 16.3 in the 1/4. and thats with no more than 130hp

why couldn't you get in the 14's?? one guy runs his civic with a type r motor with just basic mods if not close to stock...and he pulled a 13.9 at 100+

you can do it!!!!!!

Low times depends on the driver a lot more than the car. A 14.9 with 168 WHP is crappy. Either he is not getting the power down on the launch, or he is a crap driver.

lol
well the 18+ times are in my cdn spec si-g.. so we're talking 127hp, abs, sunroof, a/c etc... ON TOP of a shitty *** driver (new to stick, only been 2 months).

lets hope I can pull in the 16-17 range after I experiment a little bit.

MARCPAM: I don’t know what HONDA motors are capable of? Hahaha. Bro I have been in the scene since the first DC header came out. We were hanging around DC Fabrications before it became DC sports way back in the day. And when Stromung exhausts were popular as well as Borla’s on Civic. followed the scene through its 1st 13 sec honda, 12 sec honda and down to the 8 second hondas.

Have you ever built a single cam before? Have you tuned a stock one before? Yes, the SOHC VTEC can hit high14’s in a coupe and it has been done. Just because it hasn’t been done in Lousiana, doesn’t mean its impossible. I guess since we are in California its not as unusual to us, things are kinda late to get to those parts of the country where you’re from.
You probably think a Honda motor wont do 7 sec on a ¼ mile too?
Get with the times bro. learn from each other not bash your fellow racers.

I have seen a Civic EX with I/H/E running 16's all day long. Some runs thru driver skill it was getting down to the low 16's. That is better than an LS integra (which has more torque).
