Best Crank Pulley for B18B?
What would be the best crank pulley to get for a B18B? Are the stock ones good enough for 9000 rpm? What I am asking is are they balanced enough for that kind of RPM? Also would a B16a Crank pulley interchange with it?

why wouldn't a stock crank pulley be good for 9000 rpm? as long as it's bolted to the crank it should be fine
reason people get different crank pulleys is to have less weight rotating on the crank. Yes a b16a crank will work fine

Oh ok. Cause I thought all B-series pulleys were the same, so I bought one for a 92 Integra. But it has a V-belt for the Power steering. Just making sure.

right..people have luck with ctr N1 pulleys..others dont..others blow up there oil pumps.

99% of the people who are having problems have turbo cars. Most all motor guys are fine with it.

most of the people that have problems with "lightweight" pully's use aftermarket ones or are turboed.

That still doesn't make any sense. Just because its turbo doesn't mean it spins the crankshaft any different than NA.

Honestly there is no really good reason to go with a "light-weight" pulley that eleminates the OEM harmonic balance. If you really want to lighten the rotating assebly, all you do is get a lightweight flywheel. The harmonic balance provides protection from crankshaft harmonics that can easily damage/shock the drivetrain, oil-pump, and bearings...
One thing I read from Larry at Endyn was that he recomends using an ITR harmonic balance if your building a higher RPM motor w/ short gears. The rubber in the ITR damper is stiffer & protects from harmonics at a higher rpms. Basically OEM dampers are matched to the gearing of the transmission & designed to protect in the range the motor will spend most of it's time.
A fluidamper would be better though because it's design protects the engine at all rpms. Thats why the cost alot though...
