best chemicals to clean with?
 

harsh solvents like break cleaner are just making me high and not cleaning and grime off the block...

just use the gunk engine degreaser with the foaming action. trick is you gotta let it sit for a bit for it to work in good and then just go over some of the harder grease and grime by hand and repeat.works for me.

just remember to get the FOAM GUNK and not the other one.

oh yeah forgot to mention that u need to do this with the engine cold or ur gonna be inhaling some nice fumes if u don't already know

Simple green, oven cleaner (it will get you wicked high so spray it and have lunch or something), carb cleaner/petroleum distallates/paint thinnner/acetone/xylene.

simple green works good and doesn't smell too bad autozone sells purple power which works really good

the engine is in pieces on my work bench. but that foam is making my transmission come to a high gloss. its quite amazing actually. but you really have to saturate it...

i will try simple green to, good idea. and ill grab some purple power, try that to. it will be a chemical test off.

i have tried that spray crap, like break cleaner, which is way more harsh then degreaser, and it just gets me high and really makes me have to work harder to get the grease off i found.
