you can probably pick up an OBX header or something. Focus makes a 4-1 for the SOHC VTEC. but then again, you get what you pay for.
how do you like the JDM d15B in the EG? is it a motor worth getting? im currently looking for a swap and its between the D15B and LS. i can get the D15B for a good price and would like to know your opinion.

Re: Best cheap header for EG? (1990hondaHF)
Back when I had my civic, I had a DC header. I know a lot of people say DC sux, but I used it, and when I put it on at first, I could see a big difference when I raced. I think DC is actually a great header for the low price that you pay. I mean think about it, headers are really what DC is best known for, and you would think that someone thats been making headers for awhile probably knows what they're doing by now. Sure there's better, but as far as cheap headers go, DC is a great choice.

what are some opinions on the Chikara torq-step header? the ones with the stepped primaries. I know you're gonna say "oh, its cheap, it'll rust... blah blah" but I'm curious as to how it performs to say a comptech or DC. Anyone have this on their car?

Chikara takes the DC sports design and mass produces them and DOES NOT check for mis welds. Also does not smooth inter surfaces. You will need to replace your header after a year. DC Sports double checks all welds and has a great review.

Re: Best cheap header for EG? (aftermidnight)
I am fighting myself with a similiar decision between DC 4-2-1 one piece and the Hedmen Hedders Chikara TorkStep Ceramic Coated. I have not heard anything about the Chikara TorkStep. I have heard that the entry level Chikara header sucks. Although It seems as though the design of the Torkstep header would help with the scaveging effect, increase bottom end torque, and increase power across the entire RPM range. I have yet to find a solid review of the Torkstep series header.

that's COMPLETE mis-information...
The welds do LOOK like they suck (becuase they're done properly from the inside instead of outside...) but I haven't had any problems with mine...
and the design is TOTALLY different then the dc...
It has stepped primary and secondary runners... to stop reversion (acording to them) this is a VERY popular design...
I have one and I'm more than happy with it's performance... it DOES look like **** and I'd imagine if you did'nt put some sort of protectant (ceramic paint powdercoating etc) on it, it would rust out pretty quick (not a year though... unless you're by the sea maybe)
If you take it off after the shipping paint burns off and cleaned and sprayed it I'm SURE it would last just fine...
but to say it's even loosly based on the dc is silly... they look (and are) TOTALLY different.
I'd suggest getting a used dc though... it'd probobly be cheaper and it will most likely perform better.
I am more than happy with mine though.

Re: Best cheap header for EG? (4DeepCivic)
Dynamic Autosports header.
full stainless steel, 4-1 design, 2.5 inch collector
dynoed and made more power than the DC JDM 4-1 header.
list price ~$399
very good quality and is sweet to look at...running one myself

have a friend with the chikara, had it on his car for more than a year no problems. i have one on my b16a integra that was made for an LS. fit perfect. droped 3tenths off my 1/4... 150 for 3ths is good for me. also torqstep isn;t really worth the money. have a friend with one not much differance over the regular. about 100 bucks more tho. my .02

Re: Best cheap header for EG? (bmcc72)
OBX headers have had a bad reputation for exhaust leaks, so i would go with the HP Racing HEader, they dyno just as well as DC , but dont go with the ceramic, they have a tendancy to flake off,.... and they are pretty cheap...
