do you want near stock idle or do you not mind? skunk2 stage 2 have nice gains but if you rev past stock redline just once you're screwed.
I would upgrade the valvetrain, for peace of mind. Or you can go to stage 1's.

Without valvetrain upgrade?
CTR/98-01 ITR, S2S1's, BCIII
S2S1's are a very underrated cam.
Once you upgrade your valvetrain, it's a whole new world.

I'm not familiar with BCIII, but the other cams are where it's at for an otherwise stock B series VTEC engine.
Too big of a cam will run like **** with stock compression ratios - bigger cams with more overlap actually lower dynamic conpression - they are intended to run with higher CR numers in mind.
Bigger isn't always better.

Well said.
The BCIIIs are are Stage 1 cam, that "supposedly" make good power all the way to 8k on stock valvesprings. I was reading up on them back when I was going all motor.

skunk2 stage 1's on a stock jdm b16a with rmf 4-1, aem 3" cai and a vafc to tune? Just wondering if it would be worth getting the cams? Mods above.

Im trying to decide the same thing for my 00 si. Im leaning towards the Skunk2 S1. I have already got everything else ready. Aem sri, dc header, apexi n1 exhaust, prp intake mani, converted to OBD1 and tuned with chrome. Just need some cams and the juice now.
