Best Aftermarket Headlight for an eg?
i have a 95 dx hatch and i think the stock headlights are just a little too boring. All the ones i find are either not my style or just plain too ricey.

that would be what i would do
if i had $500 to spend on headlights, they would already be in my car
at this point i'd gonna settle for HIDs but i can't get a nice set of 10000ks for under $350 or so, so stock with hyper whites will have to do

Re: Best Aftermarket Headlight for an eg? (kidd_honda)
yeah, there's a couple ways to do that actually. one would be to retrofit some HID projectors in (most popular ones are the audis and the bmws), the other option would be to get an HID kit with glare shields.
and my vote goes either to TYC or Denji (if you can find the Denjis that is). i used to rock Denji projectors, but they broke (long story). now i rock the black housing TYCs

my favorites:
TYC non-projector black housing
TYC projector (they accept HID kits well, with oem style cutoffs)
Anything else pretty much sucks. All other projectors come with H3 projector lenses, which are unsuitable for headlights (h3 projectors are supposed to be for fogs).
JDM lights aren't all that. They're only slightly better than stock and you need to use h4h bulbs (not widely available) or modded h4 bulbs.
Better yet, don't waste your $$ on headlights. Stock headlights and oem/depo fogs provided plenty of light on my old EG. Don't waste your $$ on "hyper white" blubs either. The bluish light diminishes visibility and they blow fast.

I'm very interested in getting angel eyes.... does the housing block a lot of light, especially if you still have the same H4 bulbs? Or is it pretty much the same as stock as far as lighting?

tyc blackhousing... fits great. almost oem and it makes a world of a difference for lighting with halogens.

Re: Best Aftermarket Headlight for an eg? (sohc dude)
When you ask what are the "Best" aftermarket headlight, are you refereing to actual functionality or looks?
- For looks, you'll get too many personal responses. That's entirely up to you my friend. Some love the TYC's, some love the retrofitted projector types, some love the JDM stock look with city lights, and etc. The look part is for whatever YOU think looks good.
- For functionality, how much do you have to spend? I think the retrofitted projectors will have the cleanest light output with the HIDs (if done properly), but you will spend more. The TYC's are DOT approved, and are supposed to produced better light output that the 1st and 2nd gen projectors. My friend got the 1 piece 5th gen TYC projectors and they produce better light distribution than my shark eyes. Then I saw a pair of shark eye projectors with audi retrofitted projectors and HID, and I was like "WOW!"
So take an approach towards your goal in that sense. I hope I added some constructive input.
