Bent Si Radiator subframe =(
I recently bought a 2000 civic si, knowing that it would have a few issues because of the price i got it for. one of these issues is that the radiator subframe was obviously damaged in a crash, and whoever tried unbending it wasnt exactly competent. the right bolt area for my front bumper appears to be gone, the left one is bent down about 4 inches, and the area where it attatches on the left side of the chassis is bent significantly enough to where they used a couple washers as a spacer just to make it fit. is this worth taking to someone who knows what theyre doing with frame work or should i just go to a junk yard and get one off of another civic? also, would i have to get one off another si or could i just look for any 99-00?

I did some similar work to my 2000 coupe. I would say buy new, it is big time welded on. There is nothing special about the car being an Si, all models use the same front bulkhead
Here is a pic of what the front end looks like....feel free to check out the build thread in my sig

Re: Bent Si Radiator subframe =(
Trust me, it's not as good as it seems in my pic. The entire interior along the roof is ruined. a good chunk of it was spraypainted by the previous owner (INCLUDING THE SI RIMS ) to cover up the scratches and fading before he sold it to me. the fenders could stand to be replaced. the spoiler has a crack in it. the exhaust is stock and leaking out right after the cat. i've got my work cut out for me on this. but the drivetrain is 86k and original, working perfect. it's gonna take me a while to get everything taken care of but i'll be happy once i've gotten it looking pretty.

I would get the 99/00 radiator support since theyre a tad bit different from 96/98... Just to be safe with the healight fittings you know.....

they really are not that hard to put on, when we did my friends it took like 2 hours, we bolted it on, and took it the a shop over here and had them weld it in.

I'm glad that this isnt too hard of an install. this is my first honda and all the experience i have with them is just from my friends. I'm just hoping i'm not in too deep as far as fixing this thing up

Just take your time, the more eyes you have the better. then hardest part of the hole thinking is making sure the new one goes into the correct spot and your front end lines up.
I cannot stress this enough, take your time and make sure everything is lined up, if you just throw it in, (like mine was) your in for a hell of time lineing things up.

Re: Bent Si Radiator subframe =(
yeah whoever tried fixing it originally barely even unbent the subframe. the hood is off by a lot because of it, and i intend to do it right. i've got a quote for 2500 for paint after i get new panels and a hood so hopefully i'll have it nice and pretty within the next few months. i'll definitely post up pictures of the before and after when i have it all done, any si is beautiful after it comes out of the booth
