belt dressing sprayed: now weird sound
I recently picked up some belt dressing and after cleaning and washing up my car, I sprayed some on the alternator belt. After turning on my car (a 92 civic cx) there is now a very weird sound coming from that alternator area, it sounds almost sounds like a sprinkle now, the kind that has the little flapper thing that hits its self almost once a seconed to make the sprinkler head move.
If anyone has any clue as to why this happend I would greatly appreciate it if they would let me know.

stuff thats made for belts. you supposed to spray it on them to eliminate noise, but in my case it had the reverse effect

Are you sure its the alternator belt ? If there was no noise before you washed everything then you can rule out alternator bearings, powere steering pump etc.
Try tightening the belt(s) ? Try the belt dressing on all of the belts as it could be the power steering etc.
Have you put any milage on it to see if it will go away ?
